What kills me about Steve’s “Together” speech in AoU is that, in the end, it’s proven to be so one sided so far.
Because Steve might end up with a team after each dust up.
But Tony?
Tony always loses. He loses JARVIS, Natasha turns on him, Rhodey ends up hurt (and then back tracking on his stance over the Accords for some reason), Steve lies to him, Vision leaves to consort with Wanda on a regular basis, etc etc.
And then, as a the culmination of all his fears, Tony has to watch Peter, the future he’s tried so hard to protect, turn to dust in his hands.
Yeah Steve faces loss too with Bucky and Sam getting dusted, but he still has the rest of the team there on earth with him.
And where’s Tony?
On a distant planet, alone except for a alien cyborg he doesn’t know, not knowing if there’s even going to be anyone left back on earth for him, with the guilt of half the universe dying resting on his shoulders.
Just like he always feared he would be.
the story of tony stark is best described as a tragedy i will tell you that right now
