I think some of the Pepper Potts hate stems from the fact that she doesn’t NEED Tony Stark to function. She WANTS him. She doesn’t NEED him.
If anything, it’s the other way around. Tony needs PEPPER to function. Tony is an erratic, obsessive, compulsive, self-destructive mess without Pepper. She’s everything.
