I know it’s not possible but it would make so much sense if Aida had swapped the real May for an android copy already on the third episode, so all the cringe-worthy stuff happening with her since then it’s really not her. It would explain a lot really.
Actually that was my theory too. It would totally explain her new obsession with Coulson. I can see Aida having desire to feel real human affection. Not sex but a more human connection interestingly enough I think she will reach towards Daisy too because she and Coulson are both so empathetic.
God, everything with May was so cringe-worthy these last few episodes and it all boils down to her obsession and cling-ness to Coulson. Melinda May does love Coulson but as her dear and oldest friend, and the only time she showed that many signs of a sticky patch when she was on Fury’s mission first and then when she was worried about his carving.
The only person Melinda allowed herself any measure of calmness and openness was Andrew….
The Aida theory is very interesting and enticing but sadly is doubtful to be true. I really don’t understand why the writers do it?? The May double plot was already used as someone had already pointed out and in the end this will push May and Coulson only further from each other (the freaking whiskey bottle opened with the robot will for sure offend May) moreover Phil didn’t caught up with the program that she wasn’t real), *not to be too shippy here but Coulson knew before any tests were even mentioned that it was Daisy who had been swayed. His face was the proof of that in 3×17 when Daisy barged in on the mini-briefing between Phil, Mack & ShitzSimmons*
So very upset about May being again the one to be used as a plot device and to suffer.
