I mean seriously, its got everything this website always bitches about other shows missing.
Strong Female Leads (actually more female leads than males)
Important POC (one of which is actually in charge of the entire warehouse)
Openly homosexual character who is not just a token gay, or a stereotype in any way, and is written no differently than any other character except that he is gay.
An openly BISEXUAL character
Umong others are Artie who is Jewish, the Regents (Who are basically like the board of trustees in charge of making decisions) are all middle class, blue collar workers (because governments and rich corporations cant be trusted with that kind of power) There are no flat characters, everyone is written extremely well. Even the antagonists can be sympathized with. and the “Good Guys” don’t always make good decisions. Everyone is a person, who makes both good and bad decisions, each character has their own personal motives and insecurities and internal battles to face that are ALWAYS PRESENT even when its not the central focus of the episode. (which is not always the case with TV shows).
everyone’s backstory is EXTREMELY detailed and well thought out, and that plays to their character’s insecurities and such.
And not to mention they totally say fuck you to gender roles.
Oh and mark Sheppard is in it too.
So yeah basically everyone needs to go watch warehouse 13 right now its a super amazing show and you will absolutely love it.
pbandfluff: whereinthewarehouse: Anyone else notice how much Myka’s hand on her neck/chest echoes HG’s locket grabbing tendency? #warehouse 13 #ONCE UPON A TIE THERE WERE THREE VERY DIFFERENT LITTLE GIRLS #WHO GREW UP TO BE THRE VERY DIFFERENT WOMEN #WITH THREE THINGS IN COMMON: #THEY’RE BRILLIANT #THEY’RE BEAUTIFUL #AND THEY WORK FOR ME #MY NAME […]
I know that basically a few months pass within the first like 5-6 episodes of Warehouse 13, but it really warms my heart how Artie goes from grumpy, prickly grizzly bear to grumpy, prickly, loving papa grizzly bear.
Also seeing his and Claudia’s relationship from the start, now that I know where it goes and everything they go through together, is really so beautiful.
(PS: @ the writers of The Blacklist and Agents of SHIELD: that is how you write a father-daughter relationship. Just saying.)
I love Artie&Claudia relationship in WH13 and they grow
spectacularly over the seasons. Claudia was clearly in need of paternal
love & presence as in need of friendship bonds which she has happily
found in her Warehouse family. Claudia never quite grew up in the
meaning of letting go of her visceral longing for a family in its
traditional meaning
Tho if we’re speaking about Daisy Johnson – there was a craving for INFORMATION about her origins and at the same time Daisy has grown and have brought up herself quite capable of almost anything.
The writers never had in mind the making of a father/daughter relationship in
AoS. You may consider it any way you like – platonic, mentor-like
(interchanging between Phil & Daisy) or romantic. With that said it
was always meant to be of equal footing, encompassing emotional
connection and always one of friendship.
