Listen, I love seeing Hercules and Lois Lane but, can we please stop having Kara’s story revolve around boring-ass generic white guy Mon-El? Seriously, ignoring the fact that they steamrolled over the budding interracial romance between James and Kara (who had much more chemistry and mutual respect for one another)… Mon-El is just so fucking generic and boring. Omg, entitled self-serving jackass finds a girl that makes him realize that he’s an entitled self-serving jackass so her story becomes about how she makes him better. She doesn’t need that shit. Kara Zor-El is a badass. She doesn’t need some random dude to make her story great. This show used to be about her journey and her growth. Now, they focus on some cisgendered white dude who doesn’t deserve to shine her fucking shoes let alone be allowed into her bed. She deserves better. The story used to be about her. Now, it is about him and how she relates to him and his story. Fuck that shit. The only reason I’m still watching is because of Melissa Benoist’s face and the Alex/Maggie story. This show is lucky that gays are so underrepresented because as much as I love Melissa’s face, it alone would not be enough to keep me watching. I know this because I find myself fast forwarding through scenes in which it’s just Kara and Mon-El. I absolutely cannot stand them together. Keep in mind that I don’t ship Supercorp (won’t mind the pairing though) or Supercat. I’m fine with heterosexual-Kara. Just pair her with someone worthy of her time and her flat-out amazingness. She is beauty, grace, selflessness, and heroism personified. She deserves a partner who both cherishes and respects that. Mon-El will never be on her level and she is absolutely settling to be with him. And, yet, they keep shoehorning his ass into every scene and every story. Fuck that. Plain and simple, she deserves better. This is her show, this is her story, this is her journey.
