Okay so spoilers for Pitch Perfect 3 below if you haven’t seen it

Obviously, fuck Universal for the queer baiting. I don’t see why they couldn’t have given the fandom what they wanted, but anyway. There’s not much to be said about Bechloe in terms of this movie so I’ll just leave it at this.

Chicago and Theo were unnecessary but fine, I didn’t dislike them. I do think they could have given Chloe’s storyline to Cynthia Rose. Chicago could have easily been a woman. If you’re going to use having a gay character to get a pat on the back (they explicitly brought up that she’s gay again), at least give the character a story but again. Nothing offensive here, they were fine.

Overall I actually loved the movie. I like that they got rid of most of the problematic humour. I thought the movie was fun, music was on point (though I would have liked more of it), and I liked that they just let the cast shine. I loved that even though Alexis couldn’t really be in the movie they found a way to include Stacie. I loved that we got so much Aubrey and we got to see her dad! I actually got mad Mitchsen feels from this movie, Bechloe was almost fully absent but Mitchsen was out in full force.

Also I love Fat Amy, I know people feel some kind of ways about her but she is an unapologetic fat girl who is confident, kicks ass, funny af (though I hated Amy being mean to Emily) and her being the hero was awesome. Loved her fight scene on the boat. We don’t get to see this often in movies so yass Amy!

The Jessica and Ashley jokes were also hysterical. I loved the ending and how everything was wrapped up nicely.

It made me a little bit sad that it’s all over. This fandom, in particular the Bechloe fandom has meant a lot to me over the years. I haven’t been that active for a few years they way I was in the early days but I have so many good memories. This fandom will always have a special place in my heart, and I may want to write a few more one shots for closure even though I haven’t written PP fic in a couple years.
