Ignoring the crowds of revellers and the relentlessly cheerful music, Regina stalked away from her mother, fingers flexing as she tried to keep from strangling her. Cora was the only person she knew who could smile all the way through a fifteen minute lecture about all the ways her daughter was failing at life, love and her career, and still act like she was the one wronged when Regina tried to defend herself. The Town Hall Christmas party was always something she dreaded; it was as though her mother spent the twelve months in between thinking up the most cutting things to say.

When magic users teleport, they usually do so in a puff of smoke…
But this smoke is actually not crucial. There are times when we clearly see a magic user just pop into or out of existence from one frame to the next. I’ve noticed this in a few situations, such as when someone is alone…
…or when they’re using deliberate movements to frighten or intimidate someone.
So basically what I’m saying is, magic users are so extra that they choose to spend the effort on a puff of smoke purely For The Aesthetic™️
