person: so when did you know you were gay? me, on the outside: so when did you know you were straight?
me, on the inside: in a time of ancient gods, warlords and kings, a land in turmoil cried out for a hero. she was xena, a mighty princess forged in the heat of battle. the power. the passion. the danger. her courage will change the world.
Last night I watched the Attack of the Clones with a much needed glass of port red to get me through the cringy disappointment George implanted within my soul. Not going to lie, this was my favorite Star Wars as a kid, because I love Natalie Portman and also Ewan McGregor.
Anyways…
My friend was seeing this for the first time while the others were Star Wars fanatics as myself. Anyways, most of you know how much I love Obi Wan and Padme, and I said: What if they’re actually meant for each other?
They looked at me like I was crazy, but every time I pointed out a moment in which the prequels supported a romantic relationship between the two, I’d make them pause and rewatch it.
ESPECIALLY THE LEG STROKE:
Their responses:
“Oh my god.”
“Is this real?!”
“Now I want it to be real!!”
“I think you just have a little crush on Ewan McGregor…” (VALID STATEMENT)
“Obi Wan is so much better for Padme than Anakin. Why didn’t they make this happen.”
ANYWAYS… By the end of the movie, I can tell you that I have some converts, and my friend has jumped on the Obidala wagon, while my other friends also agree and are astonished that I have noticed these things. (LOL I DON’T HAVE A LIFE).
Say what you want about the Resident Evil movie franchise, but there is no denying that The Final Chapter is the fairytale ending any gore loving lesbian deserves. Straight people’ve got that Tristan and Isolde and Romeo and Juliet bullshit, no thank you. I’d rather have two women on a rock of zombie corpses enjoying cloned memories and sunlight. I mean have you ever seen anything more romantic than this?!
Though I do worry a little about their olfactory senses. But still. Screw marriage equality, this is what gay liberation looks like.
