supercorp being highlight of the entire show says a lot about how important lena luthor is to kara danvers. she canonically connects to and understands her more than anyone else ever has or will. they’re soulmates and them being at the forefront of the show is no mistake. supercorp is the greatest love story ever told.

I don’t know if it’s been said, but you know how Katie always made it a point to say that Lena doesn’t know the Super secret? I think that held a great deal of importance in this first episode.

Everyone else who tried to bring Kara back into her normal self knew the secret, and wanted her to have those two separate lives. But with Lena, all she knew was Kara Danvers, her best friend. And that was absolutely enough for her. She wanted to be there for Kara just because it was Kara, not because she knew there was some identity crisis going on.

I think Lena is Kara’s proof that it’s not just the Supergirl side of her that does good. Just as plain old Kara Danvers, she was able to earn the friendship and love of Lena Luthor, and that’s what made all the difference.

Can we just talk about THIS for a moment?!?!?

Like I love how Kara, even as Kara Danvers, steps in between Lena Luthor and any perceived threat as a basic reflex. Just the way she says “Excuse me?” as she puts herself in between Lena and Morgan Edge shows that Kara didn’t think about this action before she made it, it was her automatic reaction to defend Lena even if Lena didn’t need it.

And then, when she realized that Lena had it all well in hand and under control, Kara Danvers excuses herself from the situation because she knows that there’s nothing more she can do here (at least as Kara) and her “best friend” is capable of holding her own on her own for a minute.

But that still doesn’t stop her from popping into her Supergirl suit and standing behind Lena as her super self.
