okay so this post is about platonic PLATONIC relationships not subtile sexual/romantic attraction with potential to grow i mean sibling/parental already family kind of relationships. now, to be fair, i can’t think of a single instance that this forced romantic relationship has happened with (a) poc character(s) so this trope does not seem to apply to them. (unfortunately poc representation is so low they can’t be apart of even the crappy tropes. this is horrible and needs to change) but I want you guys to know that this post was specifically talking about these two idiots because im still bitter about them and their forced romance in the end they siblings from different parents damnit
sometimes i think about Stand and how as HG was about to be devoured by an explosion, the camera panned to Myka and made sure that we see every crease on her face that added up to a woman who was forced to stand and watch as her love was about to die and GOD THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT THAT THAT WAS UNINTENTIONAL and it’s not just Jaime and Jo, it’s the goddamn cameraman and whoever the fuck edited the episode, who made sure Myka was the focus by making Artie and Pete’s protests merely background noises, and then shifting back to HG who had no choice but to ask Myka to accept her fate, and Myka silently agreeing to that request just to give HG a peaceful end despite the violence that’s about to tear HG apart while probably dying inside because that’s all she could do
